Don’t miss the last days of the Winter Book Fair!

Standard

It’s been awfully quiet around here this week… on the blog, I mean. In person, the Learning Leopard Library has been full to to the gills with students and their families shopping at the Winter Book Fair. From Lego Ninjago to Ancient Egypt and everything in between, students have been picking out their favorite titles and supporting their library with holiday purchases.

It has gone by so fast, but tomorrow is already the last day of the 2014 Winter Book Fair! We will be open for shopping our regular hours, 7:40AM – 3:00PM, and will re-open for shopping before the Holiday Concert at 5:00PM. Make sure to arrive early, because the doors will be closing once the concert begins at 6!

Also available before the Holiday Concert, we will have some of the dedicated members of PTO selling Attractions books in the lobby. These books are a part of our PTO fundraiser every year and not only do they support this amazing organzation that does so much for Johnson Elementary – they also make AWESOME gifts. Make sure to stop by the PTO table to take a look and grab a few.

One more special guest will make an appearance at the Winter Book Fair on Tuesday evening. Representatives from the Jefferson Madison Regional Library will be joining us to help members of the Johnson community sign up for a FREE library card. A library card to the Jefferson Madison Regional Library is like a passport to anything you could possibly want to read. Give your family a truly meaningful and life-changing gift this holiday season by using this opportunity to sign up for a Jefferson Madison Regional Library card, and support literacy and education from home.

Don’t forget about our Scholarship Raffle! We are raffling off a fabulous Holiday Fun Reading Kit on Wednesday morning, and YOU could be the holder of the winning ticket. Tickets are $3.00 each or two for $5.00, and the prize basket includes books, activities, pens, erasers, games, Lip Smackers products, and more. All proceeds raised from the raffle go directly into our Book Fair Scholarship Fund, which is used to provide Book Fair Scholarships to hard-working students at Johnson. Keep an eye on the blog to read this year’s touching scholarship essays – and to find out more about this year’s new Grand Prize Scholarship!

Happy Monday, and I hope to see you and your families tomorrow night at the Winter Concert!
